Camellia japonica 'April Pink' Camellia japonica 'Tama-ikari'
CF
2 year old plant = 1 gallon pot.
Soft pink formal double flowers remind us of  'Pink Perfection', but the plant was one to survive -9ºF in 1985.   A few blooms start early with the peak bloom usually in March (mid-season) here in NC.   The many petals often shade darker at the edges while the numerous flowers make a good garden display.  The plant has a compact and upright growth habit, making it a nice, dense shrub.

The striking upright and columnar growth makes this variety outstanding and useful in the landscape.   The formal shape can be used individually or in a hedge where this tree can be pruned heavily to maintain architectural hedges.  These are grafted plants.
