(syn H. tubispathus var texensis) Commonly called the "Copper Lily" this little bulb is native to Texas.  It produces flared, bright yellow trumpet shaped flowers following summer rains.  It is a vigorous rain lily, self producing underground bulblets each season and setting seed which germinates easily.  It has grass like foliage and is best suited for sun to part shade.  These often do not thrive in overly irrigated sites, and require RAIN WATER to bloom.
