Camellias are almost as easy to grow from seeds as marigolds. Seed propagation is an easy way to grow a large number of plants.
Since there are far fewer varieties within the various Camellia species, we can assure that seedlings bear similar characteristics to their (known) parents. One thing to remember is that new and exciting japonica and sasanqua varieties are grown from seeds and often bear only little resemblance to their parent plant.
Our seeds are typically shipped with a small piece of damp paper towel in the bag to prevent the seeds from drying out. They can be stored in the fridge in this manner until you are ready to plant.
A note about shipping costs: Seeds are $6.00 to ship within the continental US, regardless of quantity ordered. If you are only ordering seeds, please choose the "Seeds ONLY!" from the shipping drop down menu when checking out. This will ensure you are only charged $6.00.
